Adoption Stories

Emily Dean realized her life was missing something in June 2017. It wasn’t a job; she had a great one as an administrative assistant at Criterion Claims Solutions. It wasn’t a home; she lived in a house in Omaha.
Thanks to PetSmart and the Nebraska Humane Society, she realized her home needed a pet to share the ample space.
So on June 26th, 2017, she adopted Cuddles, named him Maverick and has loved him ever since.

Rheyna

Hello! My name is Rheyna. I was called Naomi before I was adopted. I just wanted to tell you how much I love my new furever home! I have 2 brothers, a dog named Riley and a cat named Jackson (he was also adopted from NHS!).
I have 2 mommies who love me more than I've ever been loved. I feel so at home. I have tons of energy and I have to talk to everyone I meet. I love to cuddle on my mommies' laps and sometimes, when Riley beats me to a lap, I just lie right on top of him! Riley is my best friend. Thank you so much for saving my life and placing me in the best furever home I could ever ask for. I know I'm going to be spoiled just like my brothers. Check out my new haircut, too! I feel like a princess!
Norman Avocado

I love coming home hearing the sound of my dog. Norman Avocado hears my car roll up to the house, he stops what ever he does and starts the best dance moves a dog can do. Norman freaks out when my husband and I arrive home – he runs around the house because he can hardly contain his excitement. It’s the best feeling, just knowing how much he missed us – even if we’re only gone for a few minutes to run an errand. Norman is THE best dog. We adopted him in 2014 when he was 6 years old. He was found by Animal Control officers in the field. I just can’t imagine how someone could’ve let Norm wander and not look for him. But you know what? It doesn’t matter anymore – Norm is where he needs to be: at home with my husband and our two orange tabbies.

After we lost our old dog we really missed having a dog around. We needed another partner. He wouldn't eat for up to 3 days unless around another dog. We knew where to go- NHS! We introduced Prince to the 2 for 1 duo of Charity and Diego, 2yr old bother and sister combo.
